Generally speaking, a child will get paid a BSF - Basic Studio Fee. We quote £60/hour, minimum 2hours with travel and chaperone fees - typically £200-£500 per project but this is subject to the clients budget. Buyout fees for commercials can push earning by many thousands of pounds. The agency takes 25% commission on earnings
On top of the BSF, a buyout fee is sometimes added - typically for TV commercials. This Buyout Fee depends on such factors as the region in which the advert is shown, the time period which the advert runs and the type of media it is used in.
Buyout Fees typically range from £1,500 to £20K+. Recent examples through this agency include a UK Buyout for a nappy ointment - £9000+, and a USA/Canadian Buyout for Johnson's Shampoo of £25,000+ - so the rewards are there
Fees are often dictated by acting unions such as equity. Fees for film and theatre work tend to be on the low side but can be enormously rewarding in terms of experience gained.
The agency charges a flat commission fee of just 25%. This means that 25% is taken from the amount that baby is paid. This compares favourably with many other agencies who can charge as much as 35%.
The commission is not applied to travel costs and other expenses. The rates below are a guide and we will always negotiate for the best rate for a child and to secure the job. This can mean that baby will earn often more, but it can also mean that daily or hourly rates may drop slightly in order to secure the assignment.
Model fees are charged by the day or by the hour. Different Model Rates apply in respect of each of modelling for the purposes of still photography (Photographic Modeling) and modelling for the purposes of television commercials and video (Telegraphic Modeling).
The Agency's fees for Photographic Modeling are the applicable model rates plus a supplement of twenty per cent. Both agency fees and model fees will be invoiced by the agent. Unless otherwise agreed at the time of the booking the model disbursement is included at 75% and the agent's fee at 25% of the invoice total. VAT and any agreed expenses will be added where appropriate.
Equity contract television commercials – The fee negotiated by the agent is the artist's fee from which the agency commission will be deducted at twenty-five per cent of the invoice total. VAT and any agreed expenses will be added.
Television commercials involving a buyout – The Agency will charge a supplement of 20% on both the shoot fee and the buyout fee. Both the shoot fee and the buy out fee shall be negotiated in respect of each booking at the time of booking.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing by the Agency, the minimum booking is for 2 hours. The Agency shall include in the invoice any agreed expenses. For further information on fees including overtime rates, travelling, usage territories and exclusion fees, please have a look at our Client Terms & Conditions.
